Lucien off the road

Lucien

Was born and live in Mid Wales, beautiful part of the country with a lot locally for trucking and beach days. Before I got into the off-roading scene/roof tent camping I hadn't realised how renowned Wales was. Lucky to live where I do and there's an even better community of people that goes with it.

I've owned my Discovery 4 for 2 years, bought it bog standard, and like most people, the aftermarket parts market is huge. Seen a bit of a change to it since the day i bought it.
If you plan to put your truck to the test on lanes etc, the general rule of thumb is good tyres and some under body protection. Tyres I did do, the Xlifter was bought before any guards underneath though.
I've owned and used the Xlifter for a year and a half now.
Levelling out while camping in the roof tent, jacking it up off-roading higher than standard, and the slammed parking stance that makes you look back.

I am Dave Phillipson. Four time Paralympian, canoeist, off road enthusiast, Discovery 3 owner. I use my D3 most weekends doing a few Wales trips, attending to the LR shows. Nothing like cracking weekend - fresh air, countryside, and off-roading.

Considering the XLifter. Anyone who’s got a D3/D4 or Range Rover same year defo worth it. Great bit of kit. Especially if you have big tyres like mine.

Matt & Harvey, setup our YouTube channel October 2020 to supply our interest in offroading, Matt's had many 4x4's, starting off with a Lada Niva progressing through Land Rovers and Jeeps. Harvey's the behind the scenes tech and videographer and recently got his Freelander 2. Currently living in sunny Cheshire and members of the Cheshire Land Rover Club, where we make good use of our XLifter at various off road and green laning events.

Our video creation has given great opurtunity to meet many enthusiasts and also test equipment. Ground clearance is an important offroad capability, that XLifter helps us access in our Discovery 3, this is one of our metrics in the 'Jay Tee Offroad Rated' score.

Looking forward to seeing and testing more trucks with XLifter.

HGV technician from the age of 16 for MAN truck and bus. Been into the outdoors from a very early age from scouts to sailing. When covid came I was fed up with sitting at home and driving to work on repeat.  So I bought a Land Rover, added a roof tent and away we went.

I have been using the XLifter system for a while now. It is the best thing you can fit your truck if your running air suspension. The self-level function is a game changer when it comes to camping. If you’re on the road you can lower down to try and claw back some of that fuel. Or jacked All the way up to get through the ruts or rocks you just can’t miss. The gained control over your hight is so precise.
